Glamping and farm stays: nature without giving things up

The word is new, the desire is old: waking up in the green without giving up a real bed and a beautiful place. Glamping promises it in a tent; an artist's farmhouse keeps the promise with walls.

For some years now a new word has circulated among people who love nature but not sacrifices: glamping, glamorous camping — beautiful tents, real beds, evenings under the stars without the deflating mattress. It found a home in Italy quickly, and not by chance did it often find one in farm stays: the desire that drives it is the same one that invented them.

What glamping seekers actually want

Under the word sits a simple list: waking up in the green, eating real things, being surrounded by beauty rather than plastic, and a proper bed at night. The tent is a means, not the end: the end is countryside without the campsite.

Our answer has walls

At Beatilla we grant that list by different means: an artist's farmhouse. The green at the door is there — the garden, the fields, the forest on foot — and so is the beauty, hanging on the walls: every room is decorated with works by Luca Bornoffi, furnished with pieces reclaimed and repainted by hand. Sustainability here is not set dressing: it is how the place was conceived.

And the rituals of glamping are all present, translated: breakfast not packed but in a basket at your door, aperitivo in the courtyard instead of the campfire, outdoor yoga on request, and the stars — those — identical, because the Mantuan countryside still goes properly dark at night.

If glamping is the question, the answer need not be a tent: it can be a farmhouse where the countryside comes in through the windows and the art waits above your bed. Come and check.

Nature without sacrifices exists:
it has walls, a garden and paintings above the bed.
